SYRCL’s Scotch Broom Challenge
March 30, 2019 @ 9:00 am - 12:00 pmFREE
Scotch broom is a highly invasive plant species from Europe that was originally planted to help stabilize roads. Growing 10 feet high, with yellow flowers and small green leaves, this invasive plant grows rapidly and is an extremely, flammable fuel source during the summer season. Scotch broom will choke out other native Sierra plant species and can even be poisonous to livestock, deer and horses.
SYRCL’s Scotch broom Challenge is set for Saturday, March 30th from 9:00am-1pm. Help today with our ongoing efforts to eradicate Scotch broom from our river ecosystem of the South Yuba. Scotch broom pulling is hard work, rewarding and a lot of fun. Be prepared for a beautiful day at the river. Tools and snacks will be provided. Please bring water, work gloves and be prepared to get a little dirty.
Please RSVP to Asia Jones at email@example.com or by calling (530) 265-5961 ext 216. We will meet at the SYRCL office at 9am and carpool to Purdon’s Crossing.
